Bird Shooting and Antelope Hunting Package
Bird shooting and antelope hunting South Africa is enjoyed by many big game hunters. If you’re a hunter that loves the best of both these worlds, then this package is for you.
March/April and May is the best dove shooting time in South Africa and also the annual start of big game hunting season locally. Combining these two excellent outdoor hunting opportunities allows the bird and plains game hunter a true adventure and experience not possible in many other places worldwide. This unique safari will without doubt quench your thirst to combine quantity as well as quality.
Species available are 3 herd animal antelope species (Springbuck, Blesbuck and either/or Black-or Blue wildebeest, depending available numbers of these 2 “Beest” species.) All 3 species are available in good quantities, although Springbuck are the more numerous. Both male as well as female animals of the 3 species to be hunted, all 3 species females have horns, although females are less developed than males of course.
Hunting is not walk-and-stalk. It is the traditional “voorsit”-(sit-and-wait) method used in this part of the country for the last 150 years, involving the hunter being placed in a specific strategic spot (stationary) and the game animals “moved” by either horse riders, vehicle, quad or motorbike. It is a typical cull for meat as practiced by locals.
